Fermenting Forms
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, I have developed a deep interest in the impact of microorganisms, such as fungi and molds, on humanity. This interest has led me to consider things from their perspective. In my architectural work, there have been numerous projects that did not reach completion and were left as "unbuilt." However, I now view them as being in a "fermentation period of design," where they hold the potential to generate new value. This shift in perspective has been influenced by my growing awareness of the significance of microorganisms.
"Fermentation" refers to the process of transforming substances into something beneficial without allowing them to decay. Just as fermentation progresses under the right temperature and presence of sugars in nature, I believe that design also "ferments" when driven by a passion for creation and a commitment to innovation.
In the 'Fermenting Forms' exhibition, I will showcase how the creative processes in architecture, design, and art undergo transformation and maturation through the concept of "fermentation."
