A collaborative exhibition between photographer Walter Schels and the American luxury brand Tory Burch will be held at the Tory Burch Ginza store.

Tory discovered Schels’s work years ago and was immediately drawn to his animal portraits. “There’s a human element to Walter’s photographs, in the way he looks at the animals and they in turn look back,” she says. “He gives animals the same respect as humans, highlighting their unique personalities and emotions.”

“Animals were my friends as a child; I felt close to them,” Walter says. Animals don’t disguise themselves. An animal doesn’t ask itself, ‘Am I beautiful?’ It has no sense of shame. It is just the way it is.”
